The Junior High Banquet is always a good time. It is a formal get together for all the 7th and 8th graders, held every other year. It involves a night of food, fun and a speaker who comes to share the Word of God with all the students. The Junior High Banquet is organized by the Junior High Student Council under the direction of Mr. Lane. |

The junior high banquet was held Thursday, April 9th at Grandview. Though the dinner was a formal event, is was interesting to see the gentlemen in ties and all looking nice! After the meal, the teens enjoyed an exciting version of "The Amazing Race". Parents assisted the junior high faculty in pulling off the fun activity. We thank the Lord for our dedicated and enthusiastic teachers! Also as part of the evening, students gave an incredible amount of money for Christopher Farms, a ministry in the Philippines. CF was started by a high school friend of Mr. Lane, Tag, who after running from God for years, ended up in rehab for drug and alcohol abuse. While in rehab he surrendered his life to God and has been a missionary for the last several years in the Philippines. While Tag was trying to get a young boy to the hospital, the boy died in his truck from starvation. This was the seed from which he started Christopher Farms (named after the young boy who died). The goal of the farm is to teach Philipinoes how to raise crops and animals to feed themselves. The money that was collected was used to purchase chickens ($25), goats ($100), cows ($250), and even towards the construction of a house ($2500) for the farm. |
