I came to know Christ as my personal Savior at the age of 17. Although I had attended several different churches during my youth, and I had even made a few "professions of faith", I do not think I actually trusted the Lord until September 1984. As a senior in high school following my conversion, I started attending Airport Baptist Church (Des Moines). I was baptized about six months later. I attended weekly services: Wednesday, Sunday, and Thursday visitation. I graduated from high school and went to Cedarville College. During my freshmen year's Spring Missionary Conference, I went forward to surrender my life to Christian service. I did not know what this might later entail. Also in spring I changed my major from pre-engineering to mathematics and education. I joined a ministry team that visited a local nursing home. I also joined other groups of students for Bible study and missionary prayer. I had many opportunities to grow as a new believer. I completed my student teaching at a missionary school in Quito, Ecuador. Since graduating I have been able to serve the Lord in a full-time manner as a Christian schoolteacher. |

| Hebrews 10:11-12 Day after day every priest stands and performs his religoius duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, He sat down at the right hand of God. |
