Check out sample questions with explanations at www.ACT.org. Register via Internet to obtain admission tickets more quickly. At their site, choose the 'register' link. ACT Optional Writing Test: Students can find ACT test preparation materials prepared by the test makers at our student website at www.actstudent.org. Two new options this year:
Obtain assistance for the Scholastic Aptitude Test through trial questions. Many print resources and SAT preparation software are available.
Thursday, Feb 10, 2011. The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery is useful for determining abilities that are not traditionally identified in our curriculum. Mechanical and technical skills are measured along with mathematics and verbal skills. All Juniors take the ASVAB. There is no fee for this test.
Wednesday, Oct 12, 2011 or Saturday, Oct 15. The Preliminary SAT is used to meet annual testing requirements for eleventh grade students. Students will receive scores useful for national comparison for gauging college success. A projected SAT score will also be given. Students can then determine if they are on track in meeting entrance or scholarship requirements. All Juniors take the PSAT. The fee charged by The College Board is covered through activity fees. Wednesday, Oct 20, 2010. The preliminary ACT is used to meet annual testing requirements for tenth grade students. Students will receive scores useful for national comparison for gauging college success. A projected ACT score will also be given. Students can then determine if they are on track in meeting entrance or scholarship requirements. An Interest Inventory is also employed to assist students in their investigation of possible careers. All Sophomores take the PLAN. The fee charged by American College Testing is covered through activity fees. A new, more family-friendly version of the interpretive guide, Using You PLAN Results is sent home with test results. It uses straightfoward, easy-to-understand language to help educators and families get the most from PLAN. Also, a new website, planstudent.org, is available to help students use their PLAN results in coursework and career planning.
Feb 28th-Mar 4th, 2011 (grades 9-11). The Iowa Test of Educational Development is used to meet annual testing requirements for ninth and eleventh grade students. All academic areas are assessed. All Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors take the ITED. There is no additional fee charged for this test.
Feb 28th-Mar 4th, 2011 (grades 1-8). The Iowa Test of Basic Skills is used to meet annual testing requirements for elementary and junior high students. All academic areas are assessed. All first through eighth grade students take the ITBS. There is no additional fee charged for this test.
March 21st-25th, 2011 (grades 4, 8, 11). The Stanford Achievment Test is used to meet the annual testing requirements for grades 4, 8, and 11 as a secondary assessment in the areas of math, reading, and science. All students in these grades will take the test. Additionally, the 4th and 8th grades take a cognitive skills test. There is no additional fee charged for this test. |
